About Us

At Chats Sans Famille ASBL, we believe every stray cat deserves safety, dignity, and a real chance at a better life.

Founded in 2005 in Antoing (Hainaut Province), Chats Sans Famille is a nonprofit organization (ASBL) that works to rescue, sterilize, and protect abandoned and stray cats — with the help of local volunteers, foster homes, and veterinary partners.

We are a small, community-rooted initiative run entirely by unpaid volunteers who act out of love, not profit.

Our registered headquarters are at:
Rue Paul Pastur 19, 7643 Antoing (Fontenoy), Belgique
Enterprise number: BE 0873.793.915

What We Do

Every year, dozens of cats are left behind in our region — sick, injured, or simply unwanted. We step in where no one else does.

🐈 Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR)

We humanely trap stray cats, have them sterilized by local vets, and release them back into safe territory — stopping overpopulation before it starts.

🏡 Temporary Foster Care

We place cats that are too young, sick, or vulnerable in foster homes. There, they receive food, shelter, vet care, and the time they need to recover.

💌 Adoption

Once ready, we match our cats with carefully selected adopters. We believe adoption should be forever — so we make sure it’s responsible.

📢 Awareness

Through Facebook and word-of-mouth, we spread the importance of sterilization, kindness toward stray animals, and everyday ways people can help.

Our Values

🤲 Compassion
We don’t look away. Every cat, no matter how scared or injured, matters.

🧠 Responsibility
We believe that protecting stray animals is a shared duty — not just for rescues, but for communities.

🔍 Honesty
We are 100% volunteer-run. No salaries, no fancy HQ — just transparency and action.

⏳ Patience
Many cats come from trauma. We meet them where they are, not where we expect them to be.

Who We Are

Chats Sans Famille ASBL is led by a dedicated trio of local women:

  • Présidente: Marianne Wattiez
  • Trésorière: Andrée Plancq
  • Secrétaire: Jeannine Wattiez

Together with a circle of foster families, donors, and local volunteers, they manage rescue work across Antoing and nearby towns — often funding much of it themselves.

How You Can Help

You don’t need to do everything. Just something.

  • 🐾 Adopt one of our rescued cats
  • 🏡 Foster temporarily (we always need more homes)
  • 🚗 Help with transport to the vet
  • 🎁 Donate — even 5€ can pay for a vaccine
  • 📢 Share our page to reach more people

Every gesture counts.
Together, we can keep more cats out of the cold, and give them a second chance.
